Smallmouth Specialty Guide Service is owned and operated by John Hunt Davis, a US Coast Guard Certified fishing guide.
John is a Kentucky native who currently lives there with his wife and three children. He has fished Dale Hollow Lake exclusively for more
than 18 years and has guided professionally since 2000.
John has been highlighted in
Field and Stream Magazine on two occasions,
Kentucky Outdoors, as well as several regional news publications, as one of the
Southeast’s most accomplished smallmouth guides. He uses various techniques including the
Float and Fly and has fished most every area of Dale Hollow Lake.
He also owns and operates Hollow Log Cabins in Celina, Clay County, Tennessee as a means
of providing modern, well equipped lodging to both his fishing clients and recreational boaters who frequent the Dale Hollow area.
